We’re Licensed! Here’s why…

Music licensing is important…it confirms, financially, the rights owned by creators and copyright holders to do what they wish with music and be compensated thusly. We at RTDS are completely in favour of paying creators and owners for the use of their works, as we are a music discovery service at our core, playing works that people need to hear.

We are licensed to SOCAN’s Tariff 22f and Re:Sound’s Tariff 8, which ensure our usage of copyrighted material compensates these rights holders WORLDWIDE, as both of these agencies have reciprocal agreements with partner agencies across the globe.

Pirate radio has come a long way…we may view ourselves as radio pirates in one sense, but morally we do the right thing, and so should ALL music services!

8P ET/PT FRIDAY, 10A ET/PT SUNDAY, THE VINYL VAULT ON AIR! VINYL, CLASSICS, RARITIES AND MORE ON CKAV!

Yep, The Vinyl Vault is back from hiatus!  The show will be produced at the RTDS studios but now air twice weekly on two very fine FM stations, in Toronto and Vancouver.  CKAV FM air in Toronto at 106.5 and in Vancouver at 106.3, Fridays at 8p local time, with a repeat at 10a Sunday.

The world needs more radio shows about vinyl, or at least we think so. It’s like a 1 hour vacation from reality!

On The Vinyl Vault, Todd Miller (Don River) plays songs from vinyl from the vinyl era, as well as newer tracks that bump up along them nicely. We play hits, B sides, one hit wonders, rarities and lost classics, interviews and perhaps some stuff we should *never* play again ?

Join us for an hour weekly of great music and interviews with music stars of yesterday and today.

If you’d like to make a request there are two ways to do that:

  • email ==> feedback AT radiothatdoesntsuck.com, OR
  • 1-866-269-6155 Ext. 4 for our voicemail line.

Digging deep into our vinyl library, and those of our friends, you can expect to hear songs heard very few other places, as well as enough familiar stuff to keep you tuned in ?

If you’d like to sponsor or advertise on The Vinyl Vault, drop us a line for our rate card…you can’t beat it!
